Introduction
This course presents the basic concepts and principles of reinforced concrete design. It is specifically structured to meet the technical needs of civil, structural, and architectural engineers whose work is related to reinforced concrete design. This reviews different loads and discusses reinforced concrete behavior. It also presents mechanical properties of concrete, the flexural theory of reinforced concrete, development length and splicing of steel bars, bending and shears in slabs and beams, various types of reinforced concrete slabs such as solid slab, hollow block slab, paneled beams, and flat slab, and design concept of eccentric sections. Examples and case studies will be presented to have the hands-on application of the materials covered in the course.
Objectives
- Understand the basic concepts of reinforced concrete design
- Understand how to design the different types of slabs
- Understand the behavior of reinforced concrete structures under different types of loads
- Know the mechanical properties of concrete
- Know the flexural theory of reinforced concrete
- Know the design concept of eccentric sections
At the end of this course you will be able to understand:-
Training Methodology
This is an interactive course. There will be open question and answer sessions, regular group exercises and activities, videos, case studies, and presentations on best practice. Participants will have the opportunity to share with the facilitator and other participants on what works well and not so well for them, as well as work on issues from their own organizations. The online course is conducted online using MS-Teams/ClickMeeting.
Who Should Attend?
